Detail

The V997 drawing smoke down over two burners
Top suction and side suction compared over the same pan

Top suction, or side suction

A top-suction hood puts the inlet further from the pan, so smoke has room to spread before it is caught. A side-suction hood catches it low but lets fumes escape past the edges. The panels are labelled with what each one does.

The V997 top-suction and side-suction paths drawn together

The V997 does both

An upgraded three-chamber system pulling from above, and an ultra-slim close that seals the side. The combination is the point: caught low, and held long enough to leave.

Two, three and four chamber hoods compared, each labelled with its capture rate

Four chambers, three generations in

VATTI has been adding chambers for three generations: two chambers captured 70% of the smoke, three captured 80%, and the four-chamber system in the V997 captures 99%. Airflow is up 50% on the generation before it, and the inlet sits 4cm closer to the pan.

BLDC motor, 2,800 m³/h at 1,200 Pa

Brushless, so it holds its figures without the noise a brushed motor makes getting there: 48 dB, and a Grade 1 energy rating on 208 W.

Five generations of the VATTI auto-clean cycle compared

Turbo wash, the fifth generation

The wash expands in a wave rather than spraying at one spot, so it covers a wider area of the impeller in a cycle. VATTI puts it at 99.1% effective, against 35% for the first generation. Patented design ZL201811044634.1.

Questions about the V997

What size is the VATTI V997?
896 mm wide, 360 mm deep including the mats behind it, and 908 mm tall with the chimney. The chimney is 420 mm wide. Built into a cabinet it needs a 910 mm opening and a removable shelf directly above the hood.
How high should the V997 be installed above the hob?
300 to 380 mm from the hob surface to the bottom of the hood, which puts the bottom 1,150 to 1,230 mm off the floor over a standard 850 mm cabinet. That is deliberately low: the inlet is on the underside and it works by being close to the pan.
What ducting does the V997 need?
A 7 inch run. The outlet is 210 mm across and the hose is 180 mm inside, 185 mm outside. The wall or ceiling hole sits 2,310 to 2,390 mm off the floor, back to back or to the side, with at least 120 mm from the telescopic pipe to the ceiling. Keep the centre of the nearest burner within 280 mm of the wall.
What does the four-chamber system actually change?
It is where the smoke is held before the fan takes it. Two chambers captured about 70%, three about 80%, and four about 99% by VATTI's own measure. In a kitchen that means less smoke rolling out at the sides of the canopy while a wok is going.
What colours does the V997 come in?
AG grey, pearl white and black. They are the same hood: the finish is the only difference, and all three carry the same figures.
How is the V997 cleaned?
Turbo Wash, the fifth generation of the VATTI cycle: the wash expands in a wave to cover a wider area of the impeller, which VATTI measures at 99.1% effective. The chamber carries a nano coating, and oil separation is 92%.
What warranty does the V997 carry?
Two years on the hood and ten years on the motor, for the original buyer, bought from an authorised dealer. Register it at VATTI eWarranty at the time of purchase: a claim needs the registration to be complete.
How much is the V997 and where can I buy it?
VATTI Malaysia does not sell online. The V997 goes through authorised dealers, who quote their own installed price against the ducting your kitchen needs. Find the nearest one in the dealer directory, or send us your kitchen layout and we will point you at the one that stocks it.
